Muscular Dystrophy Association of NZ (MDA) provides: free information, support, advocacy, and social contacts for people with neuromuscular conditions and their families/whanau and education/information to health professionals, teachers etc.There are many different recognised types of neuromuscular conditions. MDA covers muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophies, hereditary neuropathies, congenital myopathies, myasthenias, myotonic dystrophies, metabolic diseases of muscle, and inflammatory myopathies.
