Korean Settling In

NZ has become home to an increasing diverse range of people and communities from different cultures.
In recent years, Albany has become home to growing numbers of migrants. These migrants are making a significant and increasing contribution to this growth.
Census data tell us that in Albany in 2006 almost a quarter of residents identified with Asian ethnic groups, and the largest Asian ethnic groups in Albany were Chinese and Korean.
Also there were growing numbers of international students and their guardian parents in Albany.
Settling into a new country and city has its challenges. It may not always be easy to find information. You need information about getting a job, looking for schools, understanding the health system and other aspects about starting a new life in NZ. As well as the need to access English language classes and help to form individual and family society networks.
My main role is to identify Korean community needs and support them in groups and individually within the Korean community on the North Shore. Also connecting newcomers and supporting them to start their new life in North shore, is another of my main goals of Korean Settling In.
I am here for supporting you!
